Blu construction LLC was founded by Nancy Pierre on October 16, 2022. Nancy recently became the First Haitian Woman to own a construction company and the First Haitian Female, Licensed General Contractor in NYC. Without any Knowledge of construction, Nancy was asked to take on the task of organizing paperwork for a subcontractor renovating apartments in the NYCHA developments. In less than three months, Nancy was promoted to office manager, then to supervisor and eventually becoming the supervisor over the tradesmen at the Largest NYCHA development in RED HOOK, Brooklyn,   Her initial responsibility, at her site, was to make sure 19 apartments were renovated and passed inspection. Nancy had to supervise painters, plasterers, plumbers, floor techs, carpenters, maintenance and janitorial staff. In addition to that, Nancy was given the increased responsibility of processing all the Daily work documents for 13 other sites and 40 tradesmen simulating the work of a project manager.After successfully completing 19 inspections, with no punch lists, on the site she supervised, the contract came to a sudden unfortunate HALT on September 30, 2022. After Having endured much opposition on the job, Nancy developed a genuine love for CONSTRUCTION and knew it was not over for her.   The Gentleman she supervised said to her “Just go and get your license and we will work for you” Nancy did that in just eight months after the job ended. In May of 2023, Nancy became a License General Contractor with areas of expertise in flooring, carpentry, painting, restoring wood, kitchen renovations and bathroom renovations. Nancy became a certified entry-level plumber and was chosen to be the valedictorian of her plumbing class, literally one year to the exact date the contract ended. Nancy has many other certifications. Among them are green construction, solar panel installation, OSHA certification, scaffolding inspector, EPA certification and the list keeps growing.Nancy Holds a Master’s degree in Social Work , with a major in Non profit management from Long Island University and is married with 4 adult children .
